Love Parade 2016 becomes Zug der Liebe
The Love Parade is renamed to "Zug der Liebe" due to the terrifying events at the last Love parade in 2010 when a crowd rush at the Love Parade caused the death of 21 people in an underpass with at least 500 others injured. Since then the Love parade was supended.
Now a new event is announced to take place in Berlin again under the name of "Zug der Liebe" on 30th July 2016.
Love Parade is the festival of electronic dance and music was first held in 1989 in West Berlin, Germany. It was held annually in Berlin from 1989 - 2003, and then from Berlin the parade moved to different cities. In 2006 the German city Ruhr witnessed the biggest street party ever, with over 1.2 million techno and trance fans celebrating on the city’s streets. This crazy party continued to happen till 2008, with Essen taking the baton of festival in 2007 and Dortmund in 2008. The next Love Parade happened in 2010 in Duisburg which again witnessed a rush of a huge crowd attending the festival. Due to the event rush in 2010, which led to the injury and death of a lot of people, in 2011 the event has been suspended till further notice.
